    Spring

Greetings to my CovenSpace friends.  I hope you are enjoying the arrival of spring in your area of the planet.  The last few days have been pleasantly cool.  This past Saturday my oldest granddaughter and I went to Four Quarters.  This was her first trip and she had a great time and had a chance to join in the drum circle which she enjoyed.  The day was warm and folks danced and enjoyed being together.  Our day ended with the New Moon Circle followed by more drumming and dancing around the campfire.  As darkness fell, being closer to the fire felt really good as the temperatures fell too!

I am very lucky to be able to drive a back country road to work in the morning.  Yesterday was one of those days I was really sorry I didn't have my camera in my bag.  While it was cloudy, it was still a very pleasant morning and there were birds everywhere.  One of my daily rituals is to see how many birds I can see on the way to work.  Along with the regulars; the ravens, crows and sparrows, I have seen Blue Jays, Cardinals, Orioles, Woodpeckers, Barn Swallows, Doves and a number I am not sure of!  Today I noticed the "Canadians" visiting at a pond on one of the farms.  These beautiful migratory birds are so wonderful to watch in flight as well as on the ground.

The streams are running nicely after recent rains.  I hope this is something that continues considering the dry summer we had last year.  I love to pause at one stream in particular and just gaze at the water dancing along and over the rocks.  This is why I don't always make it to work at the same time each day too!

My biggest delight during my drive yesterday was seeing about 12 new little calves on the one farm frolicing alongside their moms.  They were not there yesterday, could have been in a lower field and I missed them, but the nursery was overflowing today for sure.  A little further down the road little goats and sheep were wandering the field and enjoying the quiet of the morning.

The trees are budding, something my head has taken notice of as I grab for another kleenex.  They are so pretty though!  The rolling hills are dotted with bright green, pink and white blossoms.  Yellow forsythia are in bloom everywhere.   As I drove into town, the site of the white and pink blooms on the trees was so gorgeous.    With heavy storms in the forecast for tomorrow and Friday, the blossoms will soon be gone, but what a joy to be able to see all the spring gifts from Mother Earth.

Take time to look around you today and enjoy the beauty of this spring!

    Brightest Blessings, Cordelia

Wow, I wish my drives to work could be as pleasant. I'm dashing like mad just to get in the front door on time.
